NOTA: 9/10

Amazing. Yesterday I went to the premiere of Finding Dory ... The cinema was full, and I loved that. I think the idea of releasing films on Wednesdays could not be better, as it is cheaper.
In this sequel of Finding Nemo, after ten years, Dory, who lives now with Marlin and Nemo, begins to somehow remember her childhood, and decides to look for her family, thus beginning a journey to California, specifically the Institute of Marine Biology, where she was born. There, they will make many friends, such as an octopus, a beluga, a whale shark, etc. And with Marlin and Nemo, they will look for her family, overcoming numerous obstacles.
Honestly, Finding Nemo, is not one of my favorite movies, and I was not expecting anything great from this movie. However, I must admit I was pleasantly surprised.
Since the first film, we were looking forward to Dory, a character who opened many possibilities and that certainly was key in the first film, which has led Pixar to exploit its potential in this sequel. It reminds me of the action taken with Despicable Me, and The Minions.
Despite being born as a minor character, she does great as the protagonist, despite the running gag of her short term memory. The movie is enjoyable, entertaining, emotional, funny and touching. Undoubtedly, Pixar gets the balance between a great script and technical quality.
It is a very dynamic film, in the sense that it continually changes, continuous movement, from the sea to the institute, from a building to another, from the store to the pipes, etc. We do not have time to get bored, and all accompanied by great lines and characters, highlighting the octopus Hank. Something that I liked a lot too, is the fact of using flashbacks to show how Dory is remembering things, using this as glue of the film.
As usual, we find a moral: overcoming obstacles despite all, trust your friends and family, and deeper, a critique of the human footprint on the environment, even when we try to do it right.
As for the initial short film, after seeing Lava, which preceded Inside Out, I did not expect too much as I did not like it much, but in this case, Piper, I loved it, and the graphics were great, certainly a great way to start this masterpiece.
In resume, a technically brilliant, moving film with a great script and a very well developed characters, who certainly do not lack Pixar's humor. Surely worth watching, and even more on the big screen, as the colors and design of the film are spectacular.
