Nota: 7/10

It only takes three things to keep me waiting for more: A musical, The Beatles, Lily James.
Richard Curtis develops a script with the director Danny Boyle, around the idea of the disappearance of the Beatles (among other great artists). In a world without Beatles, Jack (Himesh Patel) fool who remembers them and takes the magical songs they wrote, becoming the greatest musician of the moment.
Honoring his deepest inspiration, The Beatles, Curtis spins the plot around Jack's relationship with his best friend and manager, Ellie (Lily James). This simple love story gives rise to one of the most touching musicals of the year. With the beauty and simplicity of British cinema, the magical music of the Beatles, and the star performances of the two protagonists, this film will make you want to go out of the room dancing and fall in love in a lost town in the United Kingdom.
However, the film is not a masterpiece, and lacks coherence, consistency and narrative. It's true that as I said it will make you feel good and it's nice to see, but almost everything is due to the strength of the soundtrack and the charm of Lily James, whose character is relegated even when she has incredible potential. But I must admit that the editing and photography are beautiful and simple, offering the viewer a pleasant and beautiful experience. But as I said, sometimes the story is extremely simple and loses strength.
What could be an incredible movie remains a beautiful film for lack of narrative strength.
It is undoubtedly a movie that will make you feel good and with some nice images, but besides from the music, it is very likely that we will forget the story in a few months. However, it's worth watching one afternoon at a summer movie theatre.
